The mission of Precision Medicine is to provide the right treatment at the right time, tailored to a patient's individual needs. The benefits of tailoring treatment to a specific molecular profile within a patient’s cancer has led to dramatic advances in patient survival with better quality of life.
Unfortunately, successful implementation of Precision Medicine has come with a level of complexity that is challenging health care providers and patients alike. For each cancer, a set of biomarkers, chosen from a diversity of more than 100 different biomarkers, must be tested for to help doctors to choose amongst dozens of therapy options. Yet as doctors have more and more patients in their care, they are left with less and less time to research each patient’s specific situation and evaluate all of the options. This lack of support is leading to growing disparities of care and reduced access to state-of-the-art treatments.
Fundamentally, the problem with Precision Medicine is an information problem. Project Doris is building on novel strategies and the latest advances in generative ai-platforms to deliver a critical solution to this information problem.
